Great article, and one of my theological tipping points that brought me to my current view of marriage. Rather than setting up God's design for the family unit, I believe the Bible describes its precepts in the context of the various marriages that existed rather than prescribing one over another. Much like slavery, lots of objectionable practices are described that I'd rather not follow today.

As you've correctly pointed out, if the church really believed we should follow the sexual practices found in the Bible, they'd all be in prison!
